JSPC Computer Services is a family firm based in Sompting with a team of 16 members of staff. JSPC are members of the FSB, Buy with Confidence scheme and the Best of Worthing.
James Stoner started the company from scratch in 2002. He strongly believed that he could build a successful business. So in 2002, with his wife Shelley’s support, he left his job and started JSPC whilst working part time at a school in Southwick. The business has grown dramatically over the past 13 years from just James and Shelley working from their dining room table at home, expanding to the summer house at the bottom of the garden and eventually moving to the current offices. Between 2008 and 2012 the company’s turnover quadrupled and the company doubled in size to employing 16 members of staff, who have become one extended family.
JSPC provides ICT technical support to small businesses and over 150 local schools bringing affordability and efficiency. The repair centre and shop in Sompting has been a massive bonus for the business selling in excess of 5000 PC’s and Laptops every year. We now take in repairs and upgrades and have in one year completed over 2000 repairs with JSPC becoming a Samsung Service Centre back in May last year – the only service centre covering the Southeast of England.
JSPC are very passionate about contributing in a positive way to the local community and are very involved with helping local Charity “love your hospital”. Due to the company’s involvement with the education sector they are also very passionate about education and are actively involved with the Northbrook College Apprenticeship Scheme. Their key role in supporting our local schools and providing a high quality affordable service is central to JSPC’s ethos. James also is involved in the Worthing Herald Business Accelerator Scheme in which he acts as a mentor to new entrepreneurs and businesses.
JSPC won Worthing Small Business and Business Personality of the Year 2011 and James won Business Personality of the Year at the Southern Business Awards 2012. This was a massive personal achievement and an acknowledgement of the sacrifices and hard work he, his family and the team have made to ensure JSPC continues with its successful growth in these particularly difficult economic times. More recently JSPC were highly commended in the Medium Business category at the Worthing Business Awards 2012 and helped to raise over £350 for Children in Need by dancing the Gangnam Style with host Fred Dinage on stage.
